Physical Airflow Modeling of ESPs for Maximum Performance
Date:
Tuesday, October 1, 2013
Physical airflow model studies of electrostatic precipitator (ESP) systems have been used since about 1947. Unfortunately, ESP modeling techniques used in studies conducted prior to the mid-1970s were technically invalid, and, as a result, their predictive value suffered greatly. Today, model studies are more important than ever as small-sized ESPs are being called upon to perform at very high collection efficiencies when addressing Utility MATS regulations at existing coal-fired generating stations.
